This is fundraising for Starlight is so important:

- Each month over 43,000 kids and teens will be admitted to hospital;
- Almost 1 in 2 children admitted to hospital will be babies or toddlers;
- The need for Starlight programs will grow by 70% in the next 5 years.

2023 Teddy Bears Picnic Wrap-up

On Sunday the 28th May 2023 the Teddy Bears had their picnic. The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama held a Teddy Bears Picnic at Heritage Park in Pimpama raising funds for Cancer Council Australia as part of the Biggest morning tea campaign.

The event offered free activities for children run by local community groups and business, a jumping castle, facepainting, sausage sizzle and a host of other food and market stalls. In addition the South Coast Restoration Society Inc arranged for some of their historic items to be on display including a popular vintage car called Henry. Children were also entertained by the wonderful Happy Feet Fitness instructors Tammy and Emma with music, dance and laughter.

Finally the moment everyone was waiting for the Teddy Bears Parade. Everyone participated in the parade with joy and excitement of the children dancing and waving their bears proudly in the air as the judges Councillor Mark Hammel, Michael Crandon MP Member for Coomera, and Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama President Wayne Hosier, kept their eyes open for the best dressed big ted, best dressed little ted and overall best dressed ted.

A special thankyou to our prize sponsors Boutique baby, Shearers Arms Tavern, The Park Coomera, Gold Coast trophies & engraving, and Subway. Also a special thankyou to all of the volunteers, community groups, Gold Coast City Council, Member for Coomera Michael Crandon, and local businesses that made this event possible.
