A capacity crowd was in attendance to celebrate the handover of the $77, 000 Toyota 12-seater bus which was donated by the Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama to the local not for profit charity youth support group E_Suarve on Tuesday 20 February 2024.
Guests included, the State Opposition Leader and Member for Broadwater David Crisafulli MP, the Federal MP and Member for Forde Bert van Manen MP, State Member for Coomera Michael Crandon MP, Division 1 Councillor Mark Hammel, sponsor partners, members, and guests including Rotary District Governors and associated Rotary Clubs.

The funding and donation of the bus was made possible with the generosity of local businesses, and individuals from our wonderful community who were acknowledged on the night. The bus will carry the names of the sponsor partners. Our President Russell Mowles opened proceedings with Mr Crisafulli presenting a dynamic speech on youth crime, followed by Division 1 Councillor and Rotarian, Mr Mark Hammel who officially handed the bus over to the E_Suarve Co- founder and Director Jo Te Puni-Fromont on behalf of the Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama. Mr Te Puni-Fromont responded and gave a brief outline of the E_Suarve group who are having outstanding results in turning the lives around of disengaged youth in our community and beyond.

Past President and Rotarian, Wayne Hosier closed proceedings and thanked the Gold Coast City Council, and all levels of Government on the announcement of the land allocation for the proposed construction of a PCYC to be located on land opposite Pimpama City Shopping Centre. The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama has been a strong campaigner and advocate for the PCYC and has worked closely with Mr Crandon and Mr Hammel.

We would like to thank all sponsor partners and individuals who made the presentation of the bus to E_Suarve possible, and to the large crowd who attended on the night to celebrate the event.

A big thank you was also extended to the Pimpama Tavern for their ongoing support.
