The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama works very hard each year to help deliver a number of local community projects. Our volunteers are continuously fundraising and hosting a number of events and we invite you to participate and learn about our projects below.

Teddy Bears Picnic

The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama is hosting a Teddy Bears Picnic for the Cancer Council Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. This is a community fundraising event with activities for children, food stalls, sausage sizzle, teddy bears parade and judging. We are so excited to being everyone together to raise funds for such a wonderful cause that sadly impacts us all at some stage of their life either personally or through someone we know.

ESuarve Fundraising Campaign

The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama are proud to be supporting the Ormeau based Not For Profit organisation Everything Suarve who helps disengaged youth. Everything Suarve helps disengaged youth via a tried and tested course called the "Big Brother Program". This program offers engaging ways to learn in a safe environment that also creates employment pathways at the end of the program. The program has experienced over a 90% success rate and is currently running the 10th program since 2021.

The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama have launched a fundraising campaign to assist with the purchase of a 12-seater bus to provide transportation of youth to attend the program.

Ormeau-Pimpama Community Center

The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama are working hard with council and government to get a PCYC built in the area. The Rotary Club’s plight has the support of QLD police, the 21 surrounding schools of a total student population of more than 18,000, and the community support from more than 2500 petitioners.

Recent population data shows the Pimpama-Ormeau area is the fastest growing region in Australia with an explosion in the population from 22,500 people in 2013 to 38,400 people in 2018 and it is still growing.

Ormeau Rural Fire Brigade Command Safety Vehicle

The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama successfully raised much needed funds for the purchase of a new command safety vehicle for the Ormeau Rural Fire Brigade. The Ormeau Rural Fire Brigade.

Although there is a general perception that the main role of RFS volunteers is active firefighting there is much more to being a member of a rural fire brigade.

RFS volunteer provide services in their local area, including:

  • Firefighting landscape fires
  • Hazard prevention and mitigation advice
  • Issuing permits and fire warden activities
  • Community education and engagement
  • Disaster management response and recovery options.

Brigades across the state work to help prepare for fire seasons by training new members, conducting hazard reduction burns, and educating members of the community to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impacts of fire and emergency events. It's the generous contribution of RFS volunteers that makes a massive impact in Queensland and Australian communities.
