The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama helped the Ormeau Rural Fire Brigade to purchase a new command vehicle complete with mapping.
 
 
The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama worked together to fundraise money for the Ormeau Rural Fire Brigade towards the purchase of a new command vehicle with mapping capabilities.
 
Our club raised and donated $60,000 towards the project which resulted in the purchase of a brand new Ford Ranger with Custom built rear canopy with the latest technology features to assist with Mapping/Intelligence at an incident, as well as the purchase of a new UTV for ground Reconnaissance and Trailer. The overall fundraising efforts were a resounding success, garnering over $140,000 raised in total made possible by the generosity of sponsors, grants and donations.

81 Mapping and Command Appliance Specifications
Initiated in May 2021 the brigade has meticulously constructed a bespoke Mapping and Command appliance from a Ford Ranger 4x4 dual cab chassis. This state-of-the-art vehicle boasts a 3.5T GVM upgrade, 4x4 accessories, celFI, wifi with 5G connectivity (and provisions for future starlink mobility), a custom-built rear canopy with command and mapping facilities, dual 32-inch TVs with miracast, an A0 map drawer, a laptop drawer with dust sealing, a robust Victron 2x200ah lithium-ion battery setup ensuring up to 6 hours of runtime, a 2000w inverter, a dual battery charger, and comprehensive scene and work lighting, all complemented by a 270-degree awning.
 
Trailer Features
Accompanying the ranger is a tailor-made dual axle trailer featuring slide-out ramps, table storage, a custom cabinet for portable volume/pressure pumps, a slide-out drawer, and integrated lighting.
 
UTV Capabilities
The brigade's UTV, a 2021 Polaris Ranger Diesel, has been customized with half solid doors, a 200L detachable tank and pump/hose for mop-up operations or crew protection, enhanced Hd springs, a radio charger, and an IPAD mount with charging ports.
